Memorial Hermann | Rockets Sports Medicine Institute offers two post-graduate residency programs to develop advanced practitioners in the fields of orthopedic and sports physical therapy. The programs afford residents unmatched access to unique learning opportunities, with over 150 hours of one-on-one clinical mentorship with board-certified and fellowship-trained clinicians. Our residency programs are 13 months long and begin yearly in August.
We offer a 54-week program which includes a wide range of clinical and didactic experiences across the lifespan within The Texas Medical Center and surrounding community hospitals. This collaborative program provides licensed physical therapists the ability to enhance their skills while working with clinical experts in the area of acute care physical therapy and academia of a major educational institution.
Memorial Hermann | Rockets Sports Medicine Institute offers an immersive post graduate education in the field of Division 1 college athletics through our partnership with the University of Houston. The program offers the fellow an all-encompassing learning environment complete with over 150 hours of one-on-one clinical mentorship with board-certified and fellowship-trained clinicians as well as 300 hours of didactic curriculum integrated with physicians, athletic trainers and sports physical therapists. Our fellowship program is 10 months long and begins yearly in July.
Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation offers a post-graduate occupational therapy hand fellowship program. This 1-year program offers the fellow over 350 hours of mentorship, including one-on-one mentoring with Certified Hand Therapists, inter-professional collaboration within one of the largest health systems in Texas, as well as hands-on skills labs with a focus on orthotic fabrication.
We are accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association as a post-professional residency program for physical therapists in neurology. This collaborative program provides licensed occupational therapists the ability to enhance their skills while working with experienced clinicians in the area of neurologic occupational therapy and academicians of two major educational institutions.
