Krystal Batchelor, DO, FAAP, was drawn to pediatrics in medical school for the love of helping families and working with children. Those same reasons keep her motivated today. “I do not consider this work for me,” she says. “This is a joy that I do every day.”
Dr. Batchelor earned her Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and her Doctor of Osteopathic medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics with Baylor College of Medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Batchelor is board certified and sees patients from newborn to age 18. She sees patients for well-child checkups and treats a wide array of conditions including the common cold, viral illnesses, pneumonia, ear infections, asthma, and more. One of her main clinical interests is preventing childhood obesity. She counsels children and their families about childhood obesity and discusses the condition at each milestone checkup.
Dr. Batchelor provides direct, concise guidance with a motherly, nurturing approach. She believes it is critical to listen to the parent and to approach the child’s care as a team. She takes time to ensure her patients and their parents understand treatment plans and leave each appointment with all questions answered.
As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, Dr. Batchelor says she takes a holistic approach to care through mind, body and spirit, and looks at overall picture, not just one symptom.
In her free time, Dr. Batchelor enjoys spending time with family, exercising and traveling.
