Dr. Joseph P. Vilela Edralin graduated from Houston Baptist University and earned his medical degree from McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston). He completed his internship at the University of Florida in Jacksonville and returned to McGovern Medical School to complete his pediatric residency.
Board certified in pediatrics, Dr. Edralin treats children from birth to 8 years old and speaks Tagalog (Filipino). He has practiced in The Woodlands since 1993. Dr. Edralin’s clinical interests focus on patients with complex medical histories: primary care needs of former preterm infants and neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) patients; feeding difficulties in young children, especially infants and toddlers; supplemental and gastrostomy feedings for children under 8; nutritional and developmental assessments for pre-adolescents; medical and behavioral management of autism; attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for pre-adolescents; asthma; atopic dermatitis; and cow's milk protein-induced enterocolitis.
Dr. Edralin’s cordial and compassionate practice philosophy ensures a small-town atmosphere in a large metropolitan area and provides comprehensive care that is neither rushed nor dismissive. The practice has immediate access to multiple pediatric subspecialists, as well as occupational, physical and speech therapies for developmentally challenged patients. Clinic physicians themselves answer after-hours calls.
A resident of The Woodlands, Dr. Edralin enjoys volunteering at the Interfaith Community Clinic in his leisure time, in addition to karaoke, fishing and cycling.
