Dr. Ronnie Adams II, MD

Dr. Adams graduated from high school in The Woodlands and completed an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at Southern Methodist University in Dallas before earning his medical degree at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his general surgery residency and served as chief resident from 2005 to 2006 with Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at Bassett Medical Center, previously known as Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital, in Cooperstown, New York. During residency, he completed a research fellowship at the American Cardiovascular Research Institute in Atlanta before returning home to Houston, where he has been in practice since 2006.

Dr. Adams is board certified in general surgery. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and holds certificates in basic life support, advanced cardiac life support and advanced trauma and life support. He treats a variety of surgical conditions, including hernias, gallbladder disease, breast cancer, colon cancer, gastric reflux, and ailments of the skin and soft tissues.

A fascination with engineering led Dr. Adams to become a physician—a profession he sees as being an engineer for the body. His primary clinical interest is in robotic and minimally invasive surgery, which provide patients with shorter recovery time and faster return to normal activities.

Dr. Adams is a member of the American Medical Association, the Harris County Medical Society and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons.
