Dr. Sutherland received a degree in Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech and a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from University of Maryland Baltimore. She completed Memorial Hermann’s orthopedic residency and is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.
Michelle’s areas of interest and specialization include hip, knee, spine, and sports injuries and is a member of our Hip Preservation Program team. Michelle has advanced certification/training in Dry Needling. She is a credentialed clinical instructor and enjoys mentoring residents and students.
She is involved in teaching/research involving Hip Preservation and Spine Research, and has presented research on physical therapy outcomes after spine surgery at national meetings. Michelle is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Texas Physical Therapy Association. Michelle enjoys running, hiking, and traveling to different cities and national parks in her free time.
