Advanced practice provider Martha Dixon is a board-certified physician assistant who earned her undergraduate degree in biology at Texas A&M University in College Station and her master’s in the Baylor College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program in Houston. A physician assistant since 2009, she treats patients of all ages for a variety of illnesses.
Martha’s career choice is the result of a lifelong passion for science, teaching and helping people. Her brother’s successful cancer treatment and a medical mission trip to Nigeria helped her realize that medicine was the perfect profession for her.
She is experienced in all aspects of patient care, including performing histories and physicals; performing, ordering and interpreting labs and rapid tests; coordinating with supervising physicians and clinical and nonclinical staff; performing minor procedures; developing treatment plans; counseling patients; prescribing medications; and telehealth consultation. Her primary clinical interest is preventative care.
Her practice philosophy centers on forming a holistic, patient-centered relationship with each person. She practices evidence-based medicine, using a team-based and teaching approach. Her goal is to listen to patients and work with them to find the best solution to each problem.
A resident of Kingwood, Martha enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing viola, exercising, baking, reading, cross-stitching and watching movies.
