Advanced practice provider John Faustino is a board-certified acute care nurse practitioner who has been in health care since 2012 and a nurse practitioner since 2022. He specializes in cardiology, including general, interventional, structural and heart failure. In addition to his board certification, he holds certificates in fundamental critical care support, basic life support and advanced cardiovascular life support. He speaks Tagalog.
John earned an associate degree in nursing at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, Calif., and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.
He was drawn to a career in cardiology-related health care after the death of his father from a heart attack when John was a young child. He wanted a chance to positively impact other people's lives, whether at a time when they feel vulnerable or want to improve their health and well-being.
His practice philosophy centers on a systematic approach that involves incorporating evidence-based medicine with patient-centered care, a combination that, in his experience, provides the best possible outcomes. He wants his patients to see him as a compassionate provider who offers professional and comforting care.
John’s favorite part of practicing medicine is collaborating with patients and establishing rapport while providing a transparent, yet respectful, individualized approach.
He is a member of the Texas Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Away from his practice, John enjoys movies, professional basketball and traveling with his spouse.
