Advanced practice provider Erin Sharpe has been a physician assistant since 2017. Prior to transitioning to a career in women’s health, Erin practiced in pediatric surgery for seven years.
Her primary clinical interest is obstetrics and gynecology. A mother herself, Erin has experienced firsthand the beauty and challenges of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood, making her want to help other women with their health care needs through different phases of life.
Erin earned her undergraduate degree in health at Texas A&M University and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. In addition to her board certification as a physician assistant, she also holds certificates in advanced cardiovascular life support and pediatric advanced life support.
Beginning in early childhood, Erin wanted to help people and work in a profession that made a difference in the lives of others. Combining those qualities and her fascination with the intricacy of the human body led her to become a physician assistant.
Erin places great importance on patient-centered care. making sure they thoroughly understand their diagnoses and treatment plans. Erin values spending time talking with her patients to make them feel comfortable.
She wants her patients to feel she looks out for their best interests, shows palpable compassion and goes above and beyond to give them the best care possible. Erin hopes that her positive attitude and welcoming presence will make every patient feel at ease and calm, even in uncomfortable or challenging situations.
Her greatest professional satisfaction comes from making a positive impact on patients—from brightening a tough day to guiding them in a life-changing medical decision that impacts them for years.
Erin is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Texas Academy of Physician Assistants.
Away from her practice, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, reading, exercising, trying new restaurants and spending time outdoors.
