HOUSTON (January 30, 2025)

Doctors affiliated with Memorial Hermann Health System delivered over 30,000 babies in a 12-month period from June 2023 to June 2024.

“We are thrilled to achieve this milestone, because it demonstrates the trust placed in us by thousands of families throughout Greater Houston. Our teams across the women’s and children’s service lines excel at what they do, and they never take that trust for granted,” said Dr. Victoria Regan, vice president of the Women's and Children's Service Line for Memorial Hermann.

“Our obstetrics and gynecology affiliated providers offer patient-centered care that is unique to the needs women face,” said Regan. “We offer pregnant women a vast range of services before, during and after delivery.”

Services include education classes, genetic counseling, midwifery services, breastfeeding support, pelvic floor health care and postpartum care, including mental health services. The Fetal Center at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital is an international leader in comprehensive fetal care for infants with congenital anomalies or genetic abnormalities. Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital also houses a Level IV Maternal Facility, which denotes the highest level of care as designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services. In addition, four of the system’s community hospitals have Level III programs and five have Level II programs.

Beyond maternity care, Memorial Hermann also has multiple Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) that offer varying degrees of comprehensive newborn care, including a Level IV NICU at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital. In addition, with a fully equipped Neonatal Critical Care Transport Team, Memorial Hermann’s NICU can treat critically ill newborns transferred from community hospitals across the Greater Houston area.

Memorial Hermann has repeatedly been recognized for excellence in maternity care, most recently by U.S. News & World Report.
