Memorial Hermann Health System proudly announces that James McCarthy, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive, has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 2025 list of ‘Chief Medical Officers to Know.’
This is the second consecutive year Dr. McCarthy has received this recognition, which honors chief physician leaders for advancing patient safety, maintaining high quality standards, bridging the gap between leadership and medical staff, and managing risk.
In his role, Dr. McCarthy oversees Memorial Hermann’s physician network and leads initiatives to improve patient care, including advancing technologies like robotic cardiac surgery and enhancing patient and provider experiences through the recently launched Epic electronic health records platform.
