HOUSTON (November 11, 2024)

Memorial Hermann Health System proudly announces that Anne Neeson, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Memorial Hermann Foundation, has been named to the Houston Business Journal’s 2024 ‘Women Who Mean Business’ list.

Neeson is recognized for her outstanding leadership in philanthropy and her strategic contributions to advancing health care initiatives across Greater Houston, including the launch of the Memorial Hermann Institute for Nursing Excellence and advancements at the Larry D. Johnson Heart & Vascular Institute at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center.

“As a native Houstonian, Anne has dedicated her career to enhancing health care and community services across Greater Houston. Since joining the Memorial Hermann Foundation seven years ago, she has overseen significant growth in giving, including leading the Foundation to its most successful year in history in Fiscal Year 2024,” said Dr. David L. Callender, President and CEO of Memorial Hermann Health System.

Neeson also leads the Foundation’s role in the Health Education and Learning (HEAL) High School initiative. One of ten national partnerships between health systems and independent school districts across the country, HEAL High School is supported by a $31 million gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies to the Memorial Hermann Foundation, under Anne’s leadership. The grant is part of a first-of-its-kind $250 million initiative led by Bloomberg Philanthropies to create career-technical education (CTE) high schools that will prepare graduating students to transition directly into high-demand health care jobs with family-sustaining wages while addressing local education and health care talent needs.

“Helping to bring this transformative initiative to the Houston community highlights Anne’s wonderful leadership, collaborative approach and style and commitment to creating a healthier Houston now and for generations to come,” continued Callender. “On a personal note, I appreciate Anne’s dedication to fostering a culture of teamwork and her passion for our mission of improving health. Her leadership style not only inspires her team but also strengthens our organization’s impact on the many diverse populations we serve across Greater Houston.”
